Warwick Academy built their The Marine Science Facility as the first and only waterfront marine science facility on a Bermuda school campus. After three years of planning and building the facility was officially unveiled in September 2020. Principle, Dave Horan, says the facility will be used for a number of projects from studying coastal flora, fauna, and geology to native reforestation, aquaculture, and remote-operated vehicle testing. He also emphasises that the facility will not only benefit students, but the community at large. It will be used for a number of topics, projects, not only for students but also for the public.

The Bermuda Institute of Oceans Sciences (BIOS) can introduce your eco-club to the methods BIOS utilizes to understand the distribution of marine debris and some of the negative impacts of debris on the marine ecosystem. Tasks will include setting up at each of the sampling beaches, collecting sand samples in designated quadrats and sieving the samples at Cooper’s Island Nature Reserve. In the laboratory, club members will sort the samples into individual dishes and cover the samples with saltwater to begin sample processing, before drying samples. The BIOS team will follow up with your club to show everyone the final data gathered and how it is organised.
