Films at BUEI continue at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) with the screening of the 2023 Drama, ‘Memory’ on Saturday, April 27th at 7:30pm in our Tradewinds Auditorium. (Wheelchair Accessible)
This film was aMexican American production written and directed by Michel Franco. ‘Memory’ tells the story of a social worker named Sylvia, whose simple and structured life is blown wide open after a very surprising encounter with a man named Saul at her high school reunion. At the 80th Venice International Film Festival, ‘Memory’ premiered and was selected to compete for the Golden Lion. At this festival, Peter Sarsgaard (The Man in the Iron Mask, Shattered Glass, The Magnificent Seven) was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for his performance as the male lead. The titular character, and female lead, is played by the extremely talented Jessica Chastain (Jolene, The Help, Interstellar). She and Sarsgaard are supported by such actors as Merritt Wever (Birdman, The Walking Dead, Marriage Story), Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade, Despicable Me, The Addams Family), Josh Charles (Dead Poets Society, Sports Night, The Good Wife), and Jessica Harper (Shock Treatment, Pennies from Heaven, Minority Report).
The film is rated R with a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes.
