Biodiversity Pathway
This pathway will help you examine the flora and fauna present in the school environment and suggest ways to increase the levels of biodiversity around the school and raise the students’ awareness of biodiversity and nature.

Check out the Department of Environment and Natural resources page on Biodiversity. Here you will find a great definition for Biodiversity, a list of 21 ways you can help protect and promote biodiversity in Bermuda, and downloadable information pages about the island’s biodiversity.
Even the youngest students can participate in this theme. Little learners at Stepping Stones Preschool have been digging around their school garden learning about what kinds of animals and plants live around us. An early start can lead to a lifetime of caring for the environment.
In October 2020, The Bermuda Biological Society announced their Tree Tales programme. This is a programme that teaches the public about the biodiversity around us. Go down to the Botanical Gardens now and find the posters of information attached to the different types of trees. Read more on their promotional poster HERE.
